Annual District Music Festival returns to Foxcroft Academy

DOVER FOXCROFT – Foxcroft Academy will be hosting the District V Honors Music Festival from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 28-29 at the school.  The festival will feature 215 musicians from 19 Maine high schools, including All Saints Catholic, Bangor, Bangor Christian, Central, Dexter, Foxcroft Academy, Greenville, Hampden Academy, Hermon, John Bapst, Lee Academy, Mattanawcook Academy, Orono, Penobscot Valley (Howland), Penquis Valley (Milo), Piscatiquis Community (Guilford), Schenck, Searsport, and Stearns High School.

There will be three ensembles featured in the festival – an 85-piece symphonic band, a 100-piece choir, and a 30-piece string orchestra. On Friday and Saturday, the students will rehearse together with their ensemble’s respective guest directors. The festival will end with a concert at 4 p.m.  Saturday in the Foxcroft Academy school gym. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens ($10 family cap).
