Portland, ME -

PORTLAND – Oakhurst Dairy continues its support of efforts which make an impact in local communities, announcing its support and sponsorship of the new Maine State Parks Passport Program. By helping raise awareness of the program, Oakhurst hopes to encourage families and individuals to explore Maine’s 48 state parks and take advantage of the state’s diverse natural beauty. Oakhurst’s involvement with the passport program is part of the dairy’s “Living Natural Goodness” program that supports a variety of important local initiatives related to the health of kids and the environment.

The Portland-based dairy has long been involved with initiatives that have a positive impact on kids in the communities they serve. The Maine State Parks Passport Program is a natural fit.

Visitors can pick up their Maine State Parks Passport at any of Maine’s 48 state parks. Participants can have their passport stamped at each state park, and park-related prizes are awarded to visitors as they accumulate stamps. Visiting all 48 parks earns a passport holder a free season vehicle pass to all Maine’s State Parks.

Supporting Programs for Health and Fitness
Oakhurst’s Living Natural Goodness program seeks to improve the health of kids and the environment in New England communities by supporting activities and initiatives that encourage physical activity, healthy eating habits and benefit the environment. Already this year in New Hampshire, Oakhurst is partnering with Boys and Girls Clubs and the Foundation for Healthy Communities – which organizes Walk New Hampshire – to motivate and encourage kids and their families to make exercise and fitness a regular part of their daily lives.
