PORTLAND, Maine — WMPG, southern Maine community radio from the University of Southern Maine, broadcast at 90.9 and 104.1 FM from studios located on USM’s Portland campus began broadcasting a newly strengthened signal on Wednesday, Dec. 14. Thanks to an aggressive fundraising campaign and a federal grant from the Public Telecommunications Facilities Program, the station now broadcasts throughout southern an central Maine and New Hampshire. WMPG’s mission is to offer airwaves access to the unheard and under served voices of Maine.
