Waterville’s ACAT Adds Some Dysfunctional Cheer to the Holiday Season

Waterville -

WATERVILLE, Maine — Aqua City Actors Theatre (ACAT) presents Catherine Butterfield’s black comedy, Snowing at Delphi at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 and 11, Saturday, Nov. 5 and 12, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6 and 13, at the Theatre.

Fleeing critics and hateful reviews, former child star Nick and his bitter wife Sarah, exile themselves in a remote farmhouse near Delphi, New York. The Christmas holiday weekend brings the arrival of equally angst-y yuppie friends, and Brenda, an unexpected guest.

It is the arrival of Brenda, a rape survivor, that fuels a series of comedic turns as her honesty and directness injects some much-needed perspective into their self-absorbed lives. Soon relationships are tested, truths are revealed and what’s considered “normal” is exposed during this anti-holiday weekend.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens, and are available at the door, or can be reserved by calling the Waterville Opera House at 873-7000, or visiting the Waterville Opera House at www.operahouse.org. ; Seating is limited, make reservations early.
