Volunteers For 17th-Century Archaeological Dig

NEW HARBOR, Maine — The Maine Bureau of¬† Parks and Lands is in need of volunteers to dig for colonial historic artifacts at the Colonial Pemaquid State Historic Site. The annual archaeological dig will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday, July 18-23, in New Harbor.

Colonial Pemaquid is then site of a 17th-century English fishing station and village, and later a British military post and 19th-century New England Farm. For more information or to volunteer for a dig, call Tom at 287-4975 or visit www.maine.gov/colonialpemaquid
