DEER ISLE – The fourth show of the 2010 season at The Turtle Gallery will feature Nina Jerome (Summer Studies), Sandy Wadlington (Drawings, Paintings and Prints) and Jeffery Becton (Digital Montage) for the fourth show of the 2010 season. The show begins with an Opening Reception at 2pm onSunday, August 22 at 2 pm. and a Gallery Talk with Artists will be held Sunday, August 29th. The show runs through October 16th.
All three artists render landscapes, albeit in a markedly different manner. Nina Jerome, who has been a studio painter in the past, is exhibiting her plein air pieces. She returned to favorite spots, stood in the space, observed, and responded by drawing with paint. Ms. Jerome describes her newest work as created with an immediacy and urgency to the act of painting. Sandy Wadlington is best known for her pastel landscapes, but creates etchings, lithographs and woodcuts as well. Jeffery Becton utilizes computer technology, ‚Äúblurring the boundaries of mixed media and creating altered realities where landscapes and interiors merge.‚ÄĚ
