Trio Cleonice plays at Blue Hill Public Library

Blue Hill -

BLUE HILL , Maine — The Trio Cleonice will present a concert at the Blue Hill Public Library  planned for after school at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, in the Library’s Howard Room. The selected piece, “Songs from the Bat Poet” was inspired by the children’s book “The Bat Poet” by Randall Jarrell. It was composed by Rodney Lister who is from Boston and is a friend of the trio. Poems from the book will be read between the musical selections. It should prove to be a very appropriate selection for the season.
Violinist Ari Isaacman-Beck, cellist Gwen Krosnick, and pianist Emely Phelps formed Trio Cleonice at the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in 2008. In their short time together, they have performed a broad and diverse repertoire, including trios of Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky, as well as contemporary pieces. The Trio is the Graduate Piano Trio-in-Residence at the New England Conservatory in Boston, MA.

Trio Cleonice will also be in concert at the Blue Hill Congregational Church Sunday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.
