THOMASTON, Maine — Trekkers, a Thomaston-based youth mentoring organization, received a generous donation from the Topsham-based commercial real estate firm Priority Group on Dec. 16, at the Thomaston Town Office. Don Carpenter, Executive Director of Trekkers, accepted the check for $2,500 from Priority Group’s Director of Marketing and Communications, Kerri Prescott.
“This gift couldn’t have come at a better time for our organization. As Trekkers begins the second year of a six-year expansion, the money will be used to help us connect even more young people with caring mentors from the community, and will give more students the opportunity to participate in our educational expeditions. We are truly grateful to the Priority Group for supporting our students, our organization and our community through this generous donation,” Carpenter said.
Priority Group is the developer of the new complex along Route 1 in Thomaston, where a new Nouria Lil’ Mart gas station, convenience store and car wash, along with a McDonald’s restaurant is now open.
“We have enjoyed a team of outstanding businesses to work with during the construction of this project” said Jim Howard, CEO/President of Priority Group. As for giving to the local charities, Howard shared, “We feel good about giving back to the communities where we do business…they support us, and we are proud to support them.”
