BANGOR, Maine — Win a John Deer Riding Lawn Mower, a weekend trip to Sugarloaf, snap new shots with a Canon Power Shot Camera or relax with a new book on a Kindle. These are just a few of the many items you could win by participating in the Start your Engine Raffle being held by the Maine Childrenâ€™s Scholarship Fund (MCSF). The proceeds will benefit Maine children in grades K-12 who are in need of tuition assistance. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. Winners will be chosen on September 8, 2011. Tickets can be purchased by contacting MCSF Program Director, Kari Hunt at 945-6893 or sending a check to MCSF, PO Box 913, Bangor, ME 04402-0913.
The Maine Childrenâ€™s Scholarship Fund serves the entire State of Maine. MCSF provides tuition scholarships for Maine students in kindergarten through grade 12 for public or private school, or home schooling expenses. The organization provides 75% of tuition per child up to $1,700 or $500 for home school families. Their income must be at or below the Federal guidelines for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program in order to be eligible. Families must contribute a minimum of 25% of tuition.
