“Somalis in Maine” reading at the Bangor Library

BANGOR, Maine — A public reading by UMaine faculty members and editors of¬† “Somalis in Maine: Crossing Cultural Currents,” will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in the Board Room, Bangor Public Library.

Faculty members Kristin Langellier, Kim Huisman, Mazie Hough and Carol Toner, Maine Studies Program director and research associate in history, along with  two student members of the UMaine Somali Narrative Project, Muna Abdullahi and Keyfa Mohamud,
will read from their 2011 book “Somalis in Maine: Crossing Cultural Currents” and answer questions. For more information, call 947-8336.
