BANGOR, Maine — A public reading by UMaine faculty members and editors of¬† “Somalis in Maine: Crossing Cultural Currents,” will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in the Board Room, Bangor Public Library.
Faculty members Kristin Langellier, Kim Huisman, Mazie Hough and Carol Toner, Maine Studies Program director and research associate in history, along with ¬†two student members of the UMaine Somali Narrative Project, Muna Abdullahi and Keyfa Mohamud,
will read from their 2011 book “Somalis in Maine: Crossing Cultural Currents” and answer questions. For more information, call 947-8336.
