HANCOCK, Maine — The Great Democracy Auction to benefit the local Democratic Party will take place from 4-8 p.m.  Saturday, Aug. 6, at the Monteux School of Music in Hancock.

This year will feature antiques, gift certificates to area stores, lobster pounds and restaurants, services, catered meals, B&B stays, signed political memorabilia and much, much more. Additional special items include a signed First Edition book “More of a Long Story” by Eugene O’Neill’s granddaughter, a beginner’s sailboat and signed biographies of Robert McCloskey (Blueberries for Sal) by his daughter Jane McCloskey.

The committee is asking area Democrats to bring a plate of finger food to share. For more information or to volunteer, call 664-3015.
