Sample flavors of the world, buy birdhouses, to help build houses and hope

Belfast -

BELFAST, Maine — Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County will host “Taste of the World” from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Hutchinson Center, Belmont Ave. There will be cuisine from around the world to sample and a cash bar.

Over the past few weeks, artists, businesses and community members, along with students from preschool to senior college, have been decorating birdhouses. The birdhouses will be sold at a silent auction to be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in conjunction with “Taste of the World.” You do not have to attend the dinner in order to bid on the birdhouses, which will be located in an adjoining room.

Tickets are $15 each or two for $25 and are available at Mailloux and Marden Law Firm, 151 High St. They will also be available at the door the night of the dinner.

All proceeds from the dinner and the birdhouse auction will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County as fundraise for on second home, which will be build in Searsport. Come taste the flavors of the world while helping to build houses and hope.
