Salvation Army seeks groups for bellringing

BANGOR, Maine — The Bangor Salvation Army is asking community-minded groups to consider their¬† neighbors this holiday season by ringing the bells at the Christmas kettle for a day. Funds raised through the kettle effort support the Army’s year-round services to the community, such¬† as the Dorothy Day¬† Soup Kitchen, clothing for the needy, food baskets, fuel assistance and much more.¬† A community group can decide which day, Tuesday through Saturday, that they would like to help and the Army’s Kettle Coordinator will let them know which stores are available.¬† Then the groups can organize what works best for their members. A group can¬† take any form, service, school, church, office, auxiliary, veterans-the possibilities are endless.
