Rocky for Equality to perform Rocky Horror Picture Show Local organization raises funds for Equality Maine

Brewer -

BREWER, Maine — Rocky for Equality to perform Oct. 27 through Oct. 30, at The Next Generation Theater. Rocky for equality, a local organization, focuses on awareness for equal rights issues in the community. The first annual showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show at the next generation theater sheds light on Maine vs. same sex marriage & LGBT equality movements. All proceeds from the show will be donated to Equality Maine.

The rock musical is a science fiction movie spoof filled with numerous opportunities for audience participation. A cast of sixteen tells the story of two clean cut kids running into car trouble seeking the light down the road. Dr Frank-N-Furter’s maniacal experiments welcome them into a strange new world.

Audiences are shown how to live and love completely. For Bangor Rocky hopes not only to create awareness but action towards equality rights in Maine. Please note the show is for mature audiences only. Ages sixteen plus and/or parental guidance is recommended. Performances run Oct. 27 through Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. with an additional showing on the 29 at 11 p.m. For more information or tickets, email Becca Hodgdon at rockyforequality@gmail.com or visit www.rockyforequality.org.
