MARIAVILLE, Maine–The public is invited to join in the celebration of Mariavilleâ€™s 175th anniversary with events Friday, Aug. 19 and Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Grange and Town Hall. Fridayâ€™s events include a spaghetti supper with garden-fresh salad at 5:30 p.m. at the Grange and a Coffee House with Jimmy Barnes, Big Luvv, Ray Lambert and a Jeopardy Show at 7 p.m. upstairs in the Grange. Saturdayâ€™s events feature a parade at 10 a.m. starting at the top of the hill and ending at Carr Rd., a chicken barbecue at noon under a tent in the Grange field, a bean supper at 5:30 p.m. at the Grange and an old-time dance with music by the Sheep Island Rovers at 6:30 p.m. upstairs at the Grange. A craft/quilt/garden show and display is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday upstairs in the Grange, and a museum/historical display is all day Saturday at the town hall. The celebration also includes a train ride, bounce house and face painting for the kids and a bonfire following Saturdayâ€™s dance.
