HOLDEN – Maine Project Learning Tree (PLT) invites Day Care Providers; Early Childhood (EC) educators; and K-2 teachers to attend an outstanding PLT workshopfrom 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at Fields Pond in Holden.This workshop introduces PLT’s new guide, Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood, designed for ages 3 through 7. The activities in the guide integrate nature-based exploration, art, literature, math, music and movement, and outdoor play into early childhood education programs. Activities highlight the importance of kinesthetic learning by incorporating music and movement using an accompanying music CD.
Three outstanding Early Childhood educators will lead the training: Joanne Alex, Stillwater Montessori School; Connie Ronco, Eastern Maine Community College; Hannah Webber, Fields Pond Environmental Educator. Snacks will be provided and be sure to dress for outdoor activities!
