ELLSWORTH -  Woodlawn is pleased to offer a Precious Metal Clay Jewelry Workshop with artist Lisa Salsbury from 9am to 3:30pm, Thursday, August 26th. Join us to create a one of a kind fine silver necklace and earrings from Precious Metal Clay (PMC) in this hands-on class taught by jewelry designer Lisa Salsbury from Willow and Me.
Using rubber stamps, natural items or a variety of items with interesting textures, you will create your own fine silver necklace and earrings from (PMC) Precious Metal Clay. You will come away with finished pieces and a taste of working with PMC. While some background and information on PMC will be given, the focus will be on making and finishing your jewelry. All skill levels are welcome.
If you ever wanted to try PMC, this is a great chance to try it without the pressure of purchasing tools. PMC is a very easy-to-use medium that allows even beginners to make beautiful, pure silver jewelry.
PMC is a clay consisting of microscopic silver particles suspended in an organic binder. PMC can be worked much like any modeling clay. It is then fired at a high temperature, burning away the binder and leaving a pure silver piece. With very few tools and a bit of imagination, anyone can make beautiful jewelry with PMC.
This class will be offered on Thursday, August 26th, 9 am-3:30 pm. The cost is $100 for members and $110 for non-members and includes the PMC and all materials necessary to complete your jewelry. As space is limited, pre-registration is required by calling Woodlawn at 667-8671.
