ELLSWORTH – Award winningÂ photographer William Brehm of Riverside Studio Photography will be exhibiting a collection of his most recent work at Union Trust, a division of Camden National Bank, on Main Street in Ellsworth. The exhibit will open on Friday July 9th and run through early August.
The collection features many nature studies including images of the gardens of landscape architect Bruce John Riddell of Bar Harbor. Mr. Riddell recently received the prestigious American Horticultural Society Award for landscape design and many of the of gardens featured in the exhibit have received design awards from the Boston Society of Landscape Architects. William has been photographing Mr. Riddell’s gardens since 1998.
Also of prominence in the exhibit will be the image titled â€śAutumn Sentinelâ€ť which received the Court of Honor Award from The Professional Photographers of Rhode Island Association for the best out of state entry at their print competition in April of 2010.
Other works include the nature studies â€śFall Togetherâ€ť, â€śPollination at 3 PMâ€ť and â€śThoughts of Provenceâ€ť all of which received awards at the Maine Professional Photographers print competition and convention in February of 2010.
One of the major highlights of the exhibit will be the print titled â€śThe Bass Harbor Lighthouse at Duskâ€ť. The image received one of the professional photography worldâ€™s most coveted distinctions by being awarded the Fuji Masterpiece Award in 2008. It was Mr. Brehmâ€™s second Fuji Masterpiece Award having also received the award in 2003 for his image titled â€śWedding Galleryâ€ť. Note: The Bass Harbor Lighthouse image was selected to create the 15 by 15 foot mural that graces the wall of the entry at the new Emergency Room of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. The mural was donated by William & Honora Brehm.
