Pecha Kucha Blue Hill #2

Blue Hill -

BLUE HILL, Maine — What do wine, people’s intimate relationship with nature, and custom tool-making all have in common? All of these subjects and more will be covered by members of the Blue Hill Peninsula community at the second Pecha Kucha Night Blue Hill at 7p.m. Thursday Nov. 3, at Central Hall in South Blue Hill.

Pecha Kucha, “chit chat” in Japanese, was started by a group of designers in Japan to share their work in a very short format. This format of 20 slides at 20 seconds per slide is meant to keep talks moving a rapid but engaging pace. Since 2003, Pecha Kucha events have turned into an international phenomenon. In Maine, events have been held in Stonington, Camden, Rockland, Bangor, Portland and now Blue Hill.

The Blue Hill Pecha Kucha Nights will be informal & fun gatherings where the community gets together to listen to talks on ideas, work, thoughts, hobbies – just about anything really, in the Pecha Kucha 20×20 format. Before and after the presentation there will be time to mingle and take refreshment. Think of Pecha Kucha as a unique way to get to know the fantastic people of the Blue Hill Peninsula.

Blue Hill Peninsula’s second Pecha Kucha will feature: Zoe Weil, David Dillon, Max Treitler, Teke Wiggin, Tinderhearth (Bakery), Havilah Hawkins, Jeff Buchholz, and Alison Dibble presenting on a wide range of subjects that promise to entertain and enlighten. Light refreshment will be available for purchase. There is a suggested donation of $5 to cover organizational costs.
