On-the-water training in aquatic plant identification and invasive plant survey methods

DAMARISCOTTA, Maine — The Maine Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program will offer an Invasive Plant Patrol Field Survey Methods Workshop from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, on the Pemaquid River, at the Bristol Mills landing.

This workshop is a fun way for you to gain some guided field experience before setting off to conduct an invasive plant screening survey on your favorite lake, pond or river.

Bring your own canoe/kayak and PFD. This is an outdoor workshop, so bring what you need to be comfortable, including water and sunscreen. Polarized sunglasses are recommended. Register in advance by Aug. 2 by emailing your name and phone number to vlmp@mainevlmp.org.
