ALTON – Hirundo Wildlife Refuge is pleased to host Taâ€™pit /David Slagger, member of the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians, for his Native American drum-making workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 28 and a Drumming and Singing Circle from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday June 11 on 15 Hudson Rd (Rte. 43) Alton/Old Town. Take Gate 1, ~1/2 to Pine Tree parking lot; the shelter is further on the left. This will concludeÂ Taâ€™pit Slaggerâ€™s Â Native American Workshop Series.Â Through song and stories Taâ€™pit has presented Maineâ€™s First Nations People culture for the last 20 years to students of all ages throughout the state.
