CARIBOU, Maine — Skye Sutherland, a professional painter and photographer, has been selected by Caribou’s Brambleberry Market as their Featured Artisan for February.

Originally from Connecticut, Skye now travels the country full-time with her dog, painting and photographing nature and animals. She works and lives in her 18-foot camper, or in cozy rentals, selling her artwork in campgrounds she stays at, on the internet, and at dog shows. She often works on commission, creating custom portraits of dogs.

Skye is currently spending the winter in a camp on Cross Lake, in the Saint John Valley. She tries to spend several months a year in Aroostook County, where she finds inspiration in the untouched wildness and beauty of the area. The exhibit at Brambleberry Market features paintings and photography of sled dogs, hunting dogs, and wildlife including birds and moose.
