BELFAST, Maine¬† — ‚ÄúIt‚Äôs Movie Night‚ÄĚ – An evening of film selections presented by the Belfast Historical Society at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, in the Abbott Room at the Belfast Free Library. The films, which date from the late 1920s to the 1980s are from the Robert Hall movie collection at the Belfast Museum. Depicted are such rare images taken in the 1930s of the steamship Belfast and the Pygmy Circus, the departure of Company K in 1941, go- kart racing at the old¬† fairgrounds, and scenes from Broiler Day celebrations during the 1960s and 70s.
Belfast Historical Society meetings are free and open to the public and are held on the fourth Monday of the month, April through October.¬† For more information, visit www.belfastmuseum.org.
