BLUE HILL, Maine — The Friends of the Blue Hill Public Library Film Series continues with a showing of Midnight Cowboy (1969), starring Dustin Hoffman and John Voight, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10.
Academy Award winning Midnight Cowboy is the appealing tale of Texas greenhorn cowboy, Joe Buck (Voight) just arrived in New York City to seek his fortune. Down and out, he teams up with a resilient, small time-con man named Ratso Rizzo (Hoffman). Together they fight back becoming friends and comrades in the process. Winning Best Director (John Schlesinger), and Best Adapted Screenplay, Midnight Cowboy won Best Picture in 1969.
