SOUTHWEST HARBOR, Maine — The Wendell Gilley Museum of Bird Carving will host a Member Show and Sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, in Southwest Harbor. On display will be carvings by Museum members through the years, some for sale to the public.
This is also a perfect time to enjoy the traveling show, Birds in Art, organized annually by the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin. Currently the tour features sixty renowned wildlife artists from around the world including Robert Bateman and sculptor John T. Sharp. Last visiting the Gilley museum in 2005, Birds in Art will be on display through Oct. 9.
