Mayflower Society Celebrates Civil War Remembrances

MARS HILL, Maine — Persons interested in Civil War Remembrances of 250 years ago, are invited to the Mayflower meeting and Program at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15,  at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Route 1, in Mars Hill. Dessert will be served at 12:30 with the Program to follow. Lt. Paul D. Dudley, Easton resident, and the president of Co.B, 20th Maine Volunteer infantry reenacting group will be the main presenter. Mr. Dudley has been involved in education dedicated to preserving the memory of Maine Civil War volunteers for more than 15 years and is a well known and respected educator. He has also been involved in national reenactment events including the Battles of Gettysburg, Bull Run and Antietam. Come and join in the Constance Hopkins Colony of the Mayflower Society in celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the Civil War. If you have Civil War memorabilia, please bring it with you, for we will have space for display and time for discussion.
