Maine Wind Power Debate

Sullivan, Maine -

SULLIVAN -¬† Jonathan Carter Of the Forest Ecology Network will present a video detailing some challenges to the environment posed by wind power development in Maine at Frenchman’s Bay Library in Sullivan from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13. A lively discussion about wind power will follow. The program takes place in the Community Room of the Sullivan-Sorrento Recreation Center, 1776 US Hwy 1, just East of the Hancock-Sullivan Bridge. Light Refreshments will be served. The public is invited at no charge (donations to the Library will be gratefully received).
This is the first in a Frenchman‚Äôs Bay Library series of ‚ÄúCommunity Conversations about the Environment‚ÄĚ. Coming up: September 27, ‚ÄúCommon Ground in Sullivan‚ÄĚ, a discussion of sustainable agriculture; October 11, ‚ÄúConserving Energy in the Home‚ÄĚ with Lee Zwicker; October 25, ‚ÄúSustainable Fisheries in the Gulf of Maine‚ÄĚ ‚Äďvideo presentation by the Penobscot East Resource Center, Stonington.
