BETHEL – The Bethel Common will be filled with music every Sunday afternoon at 4 PM in August for the 2010 Mahoosuc Arts Council Free Summer Bandstand Series. As a well known bass player for legendary musician Shawn McCole, Al has also played bass at the Sud’s Pub in Bethel regularly for over 18 years and in a number of bands including Powah Crew and The Counter Balance Band, which have played nearly every major venue in Southern Maine. He is currently playing with Nate Towne and The Townies, known for donating their time to many fund raisers, and his own band, Bunch of Ole Hippies.
ACT V will hit the gazebo stage August 8. Their lively music from the 1950’s and 1960’s in three part harmonies promises to get people of all ages up and dancing, to the infectious and joyful music of Act V. Their musical backgrounds include choral, classical, church, pop, folk, opera, and show tunes and now Rock & Roll!
Brad Hooper performs August 15. A song slinger from Albany Township in Western Maine, Brad is a regular troubadour for hire. For this songwriting story teller, his guitar is just a vehicle to allow him to sing and tell tales. Expect laughter, tears and thought-provoking songs from country to rock-n-roll.

Jewel, a gem in the crown of Bethel, is also a one-of-a kind award winning performer with her yodeling expertise and an extremely versatile and sensitive voice. This Bethel duo offers something for everyone with music from Country and Folk to Blues and Rock-n-Roll, spiced with originals here and there. And of course, there’ll be some yodeling, an art Jewel inherited from her Dad, Yodeling Slim Clark.
