Learn About Winter Camping at the Blue Hill Public Library

Blue Hill -

BLUE HILL, Maine — Learn about winter camping with seasoned traveler and photographer Steve Titcomb at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at the Blue Hill Public Library. He will give a slide show of his and his wife Terri’s winter adventures back country skiing in Maine, the “Reserve Faunique Des Chic-Chocs” on the Gaspésie Peninsula, and the Groulx Mountains of Northern Quebec.

They will have the equipment they use on their trips on display including a canvas tent that belonged to Steve’s grandfather in the 1930’s and wood stove for winter camping, various snow shoes and back country downhill skis with climbing skins. The tent will be set up in the Britton Gallery on Jan. 4 so that people will have some time to look it over before the presentation.
