CASTINE, Maine -Wilson Museum Director Patty Hutchins will explore the differences and uses of leaf lard, cracklings and salt pork¬† have to make¬† pies, chowders and baked beans in the second session of her Kitchen Traditions Series at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at the hearth of the historic John Perkins House on Perkins Street in Castine on selected Wednesdays throughout the summer. Admission of $5 will include a guided tour of the Perkins House. Other recipes will include tutti frutti (brandied fruit), pickles and spiced crabapples.
