BELFAST – The Belfast Garden Club documentary, ‚ÄúProtecting the Nature of Maine: 50 Years of the Natural Resources Council of Maine‚ÄĚ followed by a talk by Judy Berk, Advocacy Communications Director for the Natural Resources Council of Maine at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16 at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church Parish House, 95 Court Street.
The screening, which is expected to last about a half hour, will be followed by discussion about the important work NRCM does to preserve the beauty of Maine as well as information about how about how Maine citizens can become more involved in protecting Maine‚Äôs environment.
The Belfast Garden Club is responsible for maintaining over 12 public gardens in the City. This year a grant from the Golden Rule Foundation has been used to improve the garden around the Chapel at the Grove Cemetery. The Garden Club hosts the Open Garden Days all summer, and supports education through donations to the Belfast Free Library, Troy Howard Middle School Garden Project, and an annual Education Scholarship. Each meeting of the Belfast Garden Club is open to the public. The Club welcomes new members and volunteers year round.
