BANGOR, Maine — J Street Maine will join activists across the country in a day of action to demonstrate that American Jews support bold U.S. leadership to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In more than 100 Congressional districts J Street supporters will organize activities and drop off tens of thousands of signed postcards backing President Barack Obama’s vision for a two-state solution based on 1967 lines agreed-upon land swaps and security guarantees. The Bangor rally will present 200 postcards to John Graham, Rep. Michaud’s Deputy Chief of Staff, at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, in the park by Hannibal Hamlin’s statue. A presentation of the postcards will be delivered to Michaud’s Bangor office at noon, after the park event, at 6 State St. in Bangor. J Street Maine is a local grassroots arm of J Street, the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans.
