Invasive Plant Paddle teaches about invasive plants and survey techniques

Jefferson -

JEFFERSON, Maine – All are invited to an invasive plant paddle training program with the Damariscotta Lake Watershed Association from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at Wilt and Judy Jones’ house at 27 High View Road, which is off Route 213/Bunker Hill Road one mile north of the intersection of Routes 215 and 213. Through this training, individuals will learn how to complete an invasive plant survey and how to rule out the presence of invasive aquatic plants. Catching invasive aquatic plants early is essential to protecting your favorite water body.

Much of the training will take place on the water. Please bring your own canoe or kayak, paddles, PFD, and other gear to keep you comfortable. A limited number of canoe spots are available to those who can’t bring a boat. For more information or to pre-register, which is required, call 549-3836 or email Julia@dlwa.org.
