In the Lyme-Light: Portraits of Illness and Healing by Emily Bracale

Bar Harbor -

BAR HARBOR, Maine – “Perhaps my story will encourage some people to consider a new perspective they find healing – physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually.” These are the words of Emily Bracale. Emily has shared her most intimate thoughts and feelings about her experience of Lyme disease and healing. Although this story is about one person, it illustrates the experiences of thousands of others. This story is for those who are ill, “in the Lyme-Light” as it were, and for their supporting cast – partners, relatives, parents, teachers, doctors, friends, counselors, and co-workers – anyone whose life and relationships may be tinted by the effects of Lyme. Once again in her own words – “Perhaps my story will encourage some people to consider a new perspective they find healing – physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually.” Emily Bracale is an artist, writer, teacher, and Reiki Master Teacher, with a B.A. in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic. She grew up in Michigan and attended the Interlochen Arts Academy. She now lives in Bar Harbor, Maine. The Jesup Memorial Library in Bar Harbor will be hosting Emily for a book signing and discussion at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at the library.
