Holiday Party hosted at Blue Hill Library

Blue Hill -

BLUE HILL, Maine — Friends of Blue Hill Public Library welcomes everyone to the annual library holiday party from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, located at 5 Parker Point Road.
A highlight of the event will be Noel Paul Stookey performing The Night Before Christmas to music that he wrote for the 200 year old piece by Clement C. Moore.  Stookey, together with Mary Travers and Peter Yarrow of the famous folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary put out a new CD last year that features the poem set to music, along with a book that reproduces the poem with illustrations by French-born artist Eric Puybaret.

Partygoers are encouraged to bring wrapped children’s gifts which the Library will donate to the Tree of Life Food Pantry. Please include a note identifying the appropriate age and, if applicable, gender for the recipient.
As always, there will be homemade refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library. The Friends will also host a special used book sale that day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Library’s basement “Book Nook.” For more information, call 374-5515.
