Got talent? Winterport wants to know

Winterport -

WINTERPORT – Do you have hidden talent that you secretly wish will be discovered?
This wish could become a reality this summer when Winterport Area Business Association and Winterport Open Stage host “Winterport’s Got Talent!” a talent show modeled after the popular television program.
Auditions for the competition will be held from 10am to noon on Saturday, July 17  and from 6-8pm on Thursday, July 22 at Wagner School in Winterport.  Singers, dancers, jugglers, comedians, animal trainers, oral interpreters, puppeteers and others are encouraged to audition.
Those who audition for the show should be at least 16 years of age and acts should be under 5 minutes in length. Selected acts will compete for the grand prize in the final show, which will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, at Wagner School. The winner will be decided by audience vote and the recipient will receive a $100 prize.
“Winterport’s Got Talent!” is hosted by Winterport Open Stage and is sponsored by the Business Association as part of a week-long series of events commemorating the 150th anniversary of the town.
Those interested in participating in the show should register prior to auditions by contacting Jeri Misler at her email: jerimisler@hotmail.com.
