BELFAST, Maine — The College Connection, a program of RSU 20 Adult and Community Education is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Since its first semester in January of 2002, the College Connection has offered academically intense, highly effective, college preparation for over 280 adults.
The College Connection is designed to help non-traditional, adult students refresh their English and math skills, build self-confidence and learn what is necessary to succeed in college. The program also provides assistance with all aspects of the college enrollment process, including Accuplacer testing, financial aid and college application paperwork, college and career counseling, college tours, and more.
The College Connection is funded in part by a state grant as well as local monies from RSU 20 Adult and Community Education. The program is free; however, students are responsible for purchasing the books needed for their courses.
The program is currently recruiting for its spring semester which starts on Monday, Jan. 30. For information or to make an appointment, call Carolyn Haskell at 338-3197.
