AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine’s First Lady Ann LePage is hosting a fundraising event to benefit Operation Tribute from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Blaine House. Founded in 2007 in Gorham, Maine, Operation Tribute is a non-profit organization that recognizes the sacrifice made by the children of Maine’s military families by providing them with a gift of thanks during the holiday season. Founder and Chairman Marc Badeau stated, “Operation Tribute was founded to show appreciation for the sacrifices that the children of military families make on a daily basis with a parent that is deployed or with the possibility of deployment always occupying their thoughts. The program is an appreciation-based program and not a needs-based program as we firmly believe that financial well-being does not diminish the extraordinary sacrifice that these children make. We are delighted that the First Lady is joining us in helping to raise awareness regarding these unsung heroes and their service to our country.”
A minimum donation of $100 per person is recommended to attend the event. For additional information, call Marc Badeau at 221-0296 or email mbadeau@OperationTribute.com.
