Fall Programs Announced for Lincoln Memorial Library

LINCOLN, Maine — Library Director, Linda Morrill announces the fall schedule for the Lincoln Memorial Library’s fall programs. I am excited about the new fall programs and look forward to welcoming members of the Lincoln area to the library this fall.
Our adult programs include our “Fireside Chat” book discussion group that meets the third Wednesday and Thursday each month. The Wednesday group meets at 5:15 p.m. and the Thursday group meets at 2 p.m. Meetings are held in the Teen Zone. If anyone is interested in joining please contact Mary Jo Hammond at 794-2765.
“Fall Reading is a Treat” adult reading program begins Wednesday, Oct. 5 and ends on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. This new program features our regular reader’s advisory cards, free raffle tickets for each book read to win one of four holiday gift baskets. In order to promote reading from all genres Mrs. Morrill asks that readers read from any genre selecting authors with the last names beginning with A,B, C,D, E, and F and G. Special book displays will feature authors from A to G. Readers may read any author or genre if they would prefer.
Our new children’s librarian Elise Rideout is ready to welcome children to the children’s area of the library. Join Elise for any one of the following programs:
Story Jam meets on Tuesday’s at 4 p.m. for children 5 and up. Features fun stories, songs and other activities this is sure to become a hit with our school age children.
Lego Club returns on Wednesday, October 5th from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is a free style Lego creation day for children ages 6 and up.
Tales for Tots meets on Thursday’s at 11 a.m. for children ages 5 and under. Features stories, songs, fingerplays and other fun activities each week.
Game Day begins on Friday, Oct. 7 at 4 p.m. Game day is for ages 9 to 12 and 13 to 16. Meet in the teen zone and children’s area.
Baby & Me begins on Wednesday, October 5 at 11 a.m. This innovative program is for babies 13 months and under. Share play time and listen to stories, songs and fingerplays geared for young babies.
All of our programs are free of charge. For more information, call 794-2765. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
