ELLSWORTH – Ross and Phelan Gallagher will perform at 2pm on Saturday Aug. 21st¬† at The Ellsworth Antiques Show at Woodlawn Musuem. The brothers, whose jazz performances have illuminated many establishments on the Blue Hill peninsula, are just one of many special events happening during the Antiques Show. Phelan Gallager graduated this sprint from Hunter College with a Master of Arts in Music Education . He performs regularly in Maine and New York and and has also toured Europe and Brazil as a musician. He performed in Jazz Bands as lead alto saxophonist alongside artist such as Bob Mintzer and Dafnis Prieto. Ross Gallagher plays in Spain and New York where he is currently living.
The Blue Hill Hearth Bakery & Pizzeria will run the cafe every day of the show, catering with their own specialties along with traditional Maine favorites. The Blue Hill Wine shop is another Blue Hill business that will be represented during the show. A Wine tasting will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 pm and offering a wine bar during the Gallaghers’ performance. Other special events include an afternoon Tea & Lecture on Friday at 3 pm.
The Ellsworth Antiques Show is the longest running antiques show in the united states, featuring 27 dealers from across the country. The show is held at Woodlawn Museum, Gardens & Park in Ellsworth. It opens with a preview party on Wed August 18th which is a benefit for Woodlawn and features live music by Paul Sullivan and runs from 10 to 5 pm daily through Saturday, Aug. 21st.
