Discover the American Woodcock’s distinctive mating dance in Jefferson April 13.

JEFFERSON – The Damariscotta Lake Watershed Association (DLWA) will host a woodcock exploration at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at the DLWA office at 38 Lake Farm Circle in Jefferson.  The American woodcock, also called the timberdoodle, lives in young upland forest and brushy woods near rivers and streams. They breed in northeastern and central North America and spend the winter mainly in the southern and Gulf Coast states.  For more information, call 549-3836 or Julia@dlwa.org.
