BAR HARBOR, Maine — The Jesup Memorial Library is offering a film presentation of Dancing at the Mill at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the library. This film was written by Gunnar Hansen, who also authored Mount Desert: an Informal History and directed numerous documentary films. Dancing at the Mill depicts life on Mount Desert Island from the mid-1700s through the late 1940s. The film was produced by Jeff Dobbs and Bing Miller of Dobbs Productions, known throughout the state for their outstanding films about Maine’s communities and history, including Gift of Acadia and Maine: America’s Coast. This film project was made possible through the support of generous donors and through fundraising events such as this showing. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. A donation at the door is requested.
