CASTINE, Maine — The Wilson Museum hosts “Cocoa Ice” , a book by Diana Karter Appelbaum, will be read by Education Coordinator Darren French from 2:30-4 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at the museum.
Discover the history of shipping and trading through a story, and a ‚Äútasty‚ÄĚ activity. Cocoa Ice The story chronicles the shipping of cocoa and ice between Maine and Santo Domingo in the nineteenth century through the eyes of two young girls. After the reading, participants will use these two ingredients to make chocolate ice cream with Patty Hutchins, who has been making hand-cranked ice cream since 1953!
