BAR HARBOR, Maine – Offered in conjunction with Bar Harborâ€™s Legacy of the Arts week and sponsored by the Bed and Breakfast Association, Chamber Music in the Parlor is an Arthur Russell Strings event that will offer a refreshing afternoon of tea and chamber music at the charming Mira Monte Inn. Guests may mingle on the terrace over tea and elegant refreshments or gather in the music parlor with musicians Nathan Lesser (violinist), Marian Graebert (bassoonist), and Ryan Graebert (cellist) to listen to classics by Handel, Haydn and Mozart in a more intimate concert setting. The afternoon will also feature a benefit raffle drawing of artisan gifts, including a recent painting by island artist Amy Pollien. The 2011 Arthur Russell Strings session will conclude with two concerts that are open to the public. The ARS Prelude Concert will feature the chamber music of the ARS faculty, mentors, and Honors Quartet at Southwest Harborâ€™s historic Claremont Hotel on Friday, July 8 at 3:30 pm. At 12:30 pm on Saturday, July 9, the ARS Finale Concert will highlight the weekâ€™s accomplishments.
