BAR HARBOR – In celebration of Banned Books Week (Sept. 28- Oct. 2) the Jesup Memorial Library hosts a panel discussion from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28 at the library. Why would someone want to ban or censor a book? Why would you want no limits on what anyone could read? Is there a gray area, and if so what are appropriate limits? Participants include Mary Lyman, local citizen; Earl Brechlin, editor of the Mount Desert Islander; and another panelist.
Anyone is welcome to attend; bring your questions. Refreshments will be offered. For more information, call 207-288-4245.
