BROOKS – Camp Forest, a wilderness day and expedition camp for children, participated in the Annual Brooks July 4th Parade. The campers who were able to attend decorated the float and themselves. They were shooting arrows of natural candy donated by the Belfast Coop, distributing seashells and information. Camp Forest is located in Brooks Maine. Adam Stone, a local Brooks man, is Senior Counselor. Bella, a Shipibo Indian from the Ucayali River in the Amazon Basin of Peru, Trey Grenfell, a student at Unity College and Maya Elson, new to us this year, are counselors. Older past campers are present as Junior Counselors and apprentices. Camp Forest offers weekly day camp, one night sleepovers, half week expeditions, full week expeditions and short classes for adults.
