Building Bridges of Communication

Belfast, ME -

BELFAST – An Introductory Workshop, with Peggy Smith,¬† called ‚ÄúBuilding Bridges of Communication‚ÄĚ in Nonviolent Communication‚ÄĒand a Fundraiser for the Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder Restoration Project from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, May 14-15, at¬† Waterfall Arts, 256 High Street in Belfast.

The fish ladder has undergone many repairs and renovations in its long history, but none of them comprehensive or specifically designed for efficient fish passage. So, in 2007 the towns and the Nobleboro Historical Society, backed by a solid community-based initiative, embarked on an ambitious rebuilding project. Now funds are needed to complete this community-based project that supports the fish and the whole coastal ecosystem.

This two-day fundraising workshop is a $140 value, but Smith is offering it for whatever donation participants can afford. All proceeds after expenses go to the Damariscotta Mills Fish Ladder restoration project. Preregistration at www.opencommunication.org/schedule.html is strongly recommended.
