BLUE HILL, Maine — ‚ÄúHome and Away,‚ÄĚ an art show to benefit the Blue Hill Public Library opening reception from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the Library. The show will be open for viewing Monday through Saturday in Aug. during Library hours and features the work of exceptional Maine artists. These works provide fresh looks at artists whose regional style expands into foreign territory. The Blue Hill Library is funded as an independent non-profit organization. Artists such as James Fitzgerald, William Thon, Marsden Hartley, Lois Dodd, Robert Hamilton, Clark FitzGerald, Bill Irvine, Margaret Straus, Jennifer Whiting, George Lloyd, Cynthia Stroud, Rosie Moore, Jeanne Messex, Ragna Bruno, Jody Blagden, Anina Porter Fuller, Pamela Elias, Marcia Stremlau, Ed Thorpe and Richard Wands have all brought their Maine game to away fields with distinctive results.
