Blue Hill Library: Historic Photo Display

Blue Hill -

BLUE HILL – Photos taken for the Weekly Packet by the late Jerry Durnbaugh, founder of the newspaper with his wife Gayle Durnbaugh, will be on display in the Blue Hill Public Library’s Roland Howard Room through the end of Nov. The exhibit includes forty black and white photographs from the early days of the Weekly Packet in the 1960’s and ‘70’s, on loan from Gayle Durnbaugh.

The photos are divided into four categories: community affairs, children, and work, plus a photo essay on local ice harvesting. Some of the people in the photos are identified but Gayle encourages people to come by and see if they can identify themselves or others.

The exhibit will be available during library hours for the months of September, October and November. For more information, call 374-5515.
