Blue Hill Library: Film Series

BLUE HILL – The Friends of the Blue Hill Public Library Film Series will host a monthly Thursday night film series, entitled, “Rarely Shown on TV, Must See Movie Series.” The series will occur on the third Thursday of the month and go through June 16.

The first film will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20  in the library’s Howard Room. The Ghost And Mrs. Muir (1947) stars Rex Harrison, George Sanders, and Gene Tierney. Directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, it is the story of a strong-willed widow, Lucy Muir, who goes to live in a haunted house at the British seaside, where she meets the ghost of crusty former owner, Captain Gregg, and refuses to be scared off. In time they become friends and allies.

Other movies in the series include, The Pianist (February 17), Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf (March 17), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (April 21), Good Morning Vietnam (May 19), and Chariots of Fire (June 16).
